The Nashville Predators look for a third straight victory when they head into Toronto on Thursday night for a date with the Maple Leafs.
The Predators have own back to back contests including a shutout victory in their last outing and they’ll look to replicate that success on the road against the Maple Leafs tonight. Nashville has had to make some adjustments after losing Pekka Rinne between the pipes but Marek Mazanek has filled in nicely for the Preds and he will look for his third win of the year in this one. Nashville always prides itself on a strong defensive effort and this season remains no different but going up against a Maple Leafs team who has received some great goaltending this year the Preds may have to focus on scoring some goals if they want to come away victorious. Mazarek is slated to start for the Preds as he matches up against James Reimer for Toronto.

The Leafs were expected to go on a bit of a slide after losing Nazek Kadri to a three game suspension which added to the already thinning roster for the blue and white as they’re already without Tyler Bozak and Dave Bolland. Kadri marked the third centreman to be sidelined but he will return in this one and will likely be motivated to make it up top his teammates and coaching staff. James Reimer is expected to start in goal as he looks for his sixth win of the year but regardless of who is playing in goal the Leafs have the edge in the blue paint and should be able to use that to their advantage especially on home ice. While the Leafs are big favourites I like them to win here as they make amends for a loss against the Preds earlier this season and I think they do it in convincing fashion at the ACC.
