The Blackhawks head into Winnipeg looking to make amends for a sloppy effort in Colorado while the Jets look to spoil the home coming for Jonathan Toews.
The Blackhawks are constantly praised for how much depth and experience they have on their roster but none of that showed up on Tuesday night against the Avalanche as Colorado pasted the defending champs. Chicago continues their road trip in Winnipeg tonight and Hawks captain Jonathan Toews will look to put on a show for his hometown crowd which will likely includes tons of family and friends. The Hawks will give Corey Crawford another shot as he was chased from the net in Denver but he has the talent to bounce back in a big way as we have seen a number of times and against a Jets team who is a little soft in terms of offensive production this could be a nice rebound. Crawford matches up with Ondrej Pavelec who has responded nicely after a bumpy start to the year but will still be on a short leash.

The Jets return home to the MTS Centre looking to shake off an overtime loss in their last outing and can move above the .500 mark with a victory but it will have to be a special effort against the defending champs. Winnipeg does have a talented roster that has the potential to make the playoffs in the Western Conference and they do have some familiarity with the Hawks as both Dustin Byfuglien and Andrew Ladd were a part of the Hawks’ Cup title a few years ago. However, the Jets haven’t been able to string together any consistency and as such head coach Claude Noel is left scratching his head and he never knows which team will skate out onto the ice. While getting the Jets as a home dog isn’t something I pass on a lot I think the Hawks will respond after getting smacked by the Avs and I think all the Jets can do is sit back and try and stop the bleeding.
