The Chicago Blackhawks continued their roll yesterday in Dallas against the Stars and proved once again that good teams just find ways to win hockey games. It was the fifth straight win for the Blackhawks and Corey Crawford picked up his 17th win of the season and we haven't even reached December yet. Trailing 1-0 in the thirdu period Patrick Sharp evened the score with his 10th goal of the season deflecting it past Kari Lehtonen. Sharp was the only Blackhawk to score in the shootout until Ben Smith finally won it in the 11th round to give Chicago a 2-1 win. The Blackhawks will have another tough one in front of them on Saturday night when they travel to Phoenix to take on a Coyotes club that has been solid at home all year long. At 9-1-2 it's one of the best home ice records in the league and if the Coyotes could just figure out a way to keep that going while playing .500 hockey on the road they'll be a playoff team come the end of the season. Phoenix has hit a bit of a rough patch here over the last few weeks but they came together for a big road win over the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday night. Thomas Greiss made 28 saves to pick up his third win of the season, Mikkel Boedker scored twice, and Radim Vrbata also added his seventh goal of the year. Phoenix is a hockey club that always gets overlooked because they play in a market that nobody pays attention to but this is a very solid hockey club. A few moves at the trading deadline and they could be a very tough out in the post season with one of the best goaltenders in the league in Mike Smith between the pipes. One of those teams that the Coyotes might have to deal with come April is this Blackhawks club that comes to town. They get a golden opportunity having had a few days off while the Blackhawks just played yesterday in Dallas.
