The Kings play their second tough outing in as many nights as they travel from the Staples Center after last night’s game with the Blues to the Honda Center tonight to face the Ducks.
The Kings at the time of writing are in a show down with the Blues in what is a 0-0 affair in the first period in what should be a very tightly contested match between two very solid teams. Los Angeles has had to rely on Ben Scrivens between the pipes as Jonathan Quick continues to recover from an injury and while Scrivens has played very well in relief it’ll be interesting to see how he plays in a back to back against quality opponents. Los Angeles is a very solid team from top to bottom and are very physical which should give them an advantage against the Ducks but how much of one remains to be seen after playing last night. The Kings are chasing the Ducks in the standings and have a chance to catch them if things work out for them against St. Louis and tonight here against Anaheim. Scrivens is slated to start for the Kings but that could change as he goes up against Jonas Hiller for the Ducks.

Anaheim is looking like a playoff contender once again as they continue to chug along in the Western Conference standings and with a day off last night you can be sure they have been preparing for their date with the Kings. Anaheim has a lot of talent up front but they also build from the crease out as Jonas Hiller and Viktor Fasth continue to play well and while trade rumors surround Hiller there hasn’t been much noise of late especially with how well he is doing in Anaheim. This should be another great game between two Pacific division rivals and while I am tempted to take the Kings I think the game against St. Louis regardless of how it ends will take its toll on them and as such I like the home side at a nice price.
