The Philadelphia Flyers and the Detroit Red Wings meet in NHL action from Little Caesars Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The Philadelphia Flyers will look to bounce back from a 6-3 loss to Detroit last time out. Cam Atkinson leads the Flyers in scoring with 36 points including a team-high 17 goals as well as 19 assists and a team-best +11 plus/minus rating this season while Claude Giroux also has 36 points with 15 goals and 21 assists and Joel Farabee and James van Riemsdyk each have 11 goals of their own this season. Carter Hart’s gone 9-15-5 with a 2.88 GAA and a .913 save percentage in goal for the Flyers while Martin Jones has gone 6-8-2 with a 3.56 GAA and a .901 save percentage this season.

The Detroit Red Wings will hope to sweep the home and home to find some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their last 6 games. Dylan Larkin leads Detroit in scoring with 44 points including a team-high 23 goals while Tyler Bertuzzi has 40 points with 22 goals and a team-best +10 plus/minus rating this season. Lucas Raymond has 35 points with 11 goals and 24 apples. Moritz Seider also has 25 assists so far this season. Alex Nedeljkovic is 14-13-5 with a 2.91 GAA and a .910 save percentage in goal for Detroit while Thomas Greiss is 6-7-1 with a 3.36 GAA and an .894 save percentage this season.

Philadelphia is 1-11 in their last 12 games against the Atlantic division and 0-4 in their last 4 games following a loss by 3 or more goals while the under is 7-1 in their last 8 games playing on 2 day’s rest. Detroit is 6-1 in their last 7 games as a home favorite and 6-1 in their last 7 games against a team with a winning percentage below .400 while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 home games.

I get the case to be made for both sides here, but the reality is that Detroit plays their best hockey by far at home and the value with the Flyers comes and goes and this isn’t a spot where I feel like taking a shot on the value. Detroit’s gotta win the games they can at home to have any hope of making a playoff push down the stretch and I think this is a winnable spot that Detroit takes advantage of. Give me the Red Wings here.
