The Sabres head into Boston looking to pull off a monumental upset while the Atlantic division leading Bruins look for their eighth win in 10 games.
The season of disappointment continues in Buffalo as the first team to clean house this year stumbles to the midway point with a paltry 9-23-3 mark. The Sabres are in a massive rebuild and after sending Thomas Vanek to the Islanders earlier this season you can expect more big names to find new homes, the biggest of which appears to be goaltender Ryan Miller. Buffalo heads into Boston looking for just their fourth win on the road season which is hands down the worst mark in the league and unfortunately for the Sabres they’ll have to do so at the TD Garden which is never an easy place to grab two points. Miller is expected to get the start in goal for the Sabres as he is countered by Tuukka Rask who is enjoying another stellar season in the Boston crease.

The Bruins continue to be the class of the Atlantic division and they are right in the mix in terms of the Eastern Conference and NHL standings lead as they have 48 points in 35 games. The Bruins are the reigning Eastern Conference champions and while some expected them to take a step back this season after a shortened offseason the Bruins haven’t skipped a beat and will be a tough team to defeat come playoff time. The offseason deal that saw former second overall draft pick Tyler Seguin and grinder Rich Peverley head to Dallas in exchange for Loui Eriksson hasn’t quite worked in Boston’s favour as Eriksson has been hurt most of the season but other than that the B’s have the majority of their team back and will be looking for retribution. This game should be a cake walk but there is no sense taking the money line or even the puck line here as there isn’t much value but I look for the Bruins to shut down Buffalo already anemic offense and skate away in easy fashion that stays under the number.
