NHL Daily Updates: Checking in on the Blues, the Ducks, tonight's TV schedule and more
December 22, 2013
Yesterday was a very busy day in the NHL, but today will be comparatively calm. We’ve got just two matchups on the schedule today, but the action will be picking back up again soon. That said, there’s still plenty to talk about, so let’s take a closer look at some of the noteworthy players out there and see what everyone’s up to.
Sidney Crosby, C, Pittsburgh Penguins: It seems like we’ve been talking about Crosby a lot lately, but it’s pretty easy to see why. He and the Pens posted their 10th straight home win yesterday, notching a 4-3 victory over the Flames. For Crosby’s part, he added a goal and two assists. That gives him 20 scores and 34 helpers so far.
The Penguins have two games this week: tomorrow in Ottawa and Friday on the road against the Panthers.

David Krejci, C, Boston Bruins: It’s been a few games since Krejci has found the net himself, but he managed to hit twine yesterday against the Sabres. He posted the eventual game-winner in the 4-1 win, adding an assist to give him seven goals and 24 helpers so far.
Krejci and company will be in Nashville tomorrow, then they’ll be off until Friday, when they’ll play the first game of a back-to-back home-and-home against the Senators in Boston.
Ryan Getzlaf, C, Anaheim Ducks: Getzlaf came through in a big way against the Islanders last night. He went off for a hat trick and added an assist in the big 5-3 road win, which brings his yearly totals to 19 goals and 24 helpers. Much of the damage came in the third, when the Ducks rallied from a 1-3 deficit to take the game.
Anaheim is in Washington tomorrow, then they’ll finish the week at home against Phoenix on Saturday.
Chris Stewart, RW, St. Louis Blues: Stewart has been very effective for St. Louis lately, and he was the big contributor in their 6-0 domination of the Oilers yesterday. He posted a hat trick and an assist in the victory, which gives him eight goals and two helpers in his past six appearances. G Brian Elliott notched the shutout with 23 saves.
The Blues are in Calgary tomorrow, then will complete the week with a big home game against the Blackhawks on Saturday.
NHL Daily Schedule: There will be just four NHL teams in action today, so it’s a pretty slow day for hockey fans. In any case, here’s a look at the complete schedule, including the start times and TV networks carrying the games.
