After a relatively slow evening in the NHL last night, things will be kicking into gear in the coming hours. We’ve got 10 matchups headed our way today, so hockey fans will have plenty to hold their attentions. While we’re waiting on game-time, let’s take a closer look at some of the noteworthy players out there who are making headlines right now. Here’s the latest.

John Tavares, C, NY Islanders: Tavares has been peppering in the points lately, and he continued in a big way last night. He managed to post a hat trick and add a pair of assists in the Isles’ 7-3 win over Dallas, which was his second career five-point night. Tavares now has 20 goals and 31 helpers on the season so far.
The Islanders will hit the road for a pair of games this week: tonight in Toronto and Friday in Colorado.

Sergei Bobrovsky, G, Columbus Blue Jackets: It’s been over a month since we’ve seen Bobrovsky in action for the Blue Jackets, but he was able to make his return last night against the Rangers. He posted a busy evening, racking up 40 saves on 43 shots in an eventual 4-3 shootout win for Columbus. It was Bobrovsky’s first game since December 3.
That concludes the Jackets’ four-game road trip, and they’ll be back home on Friday against the Hurricanes. After that it’s off to Winnipeg on Saturday.

Max Pacioretty, LW, Montreal Canadiens: Pacioretty continued his nice run of solid statistical play against the Panthers last night, offering an assist in the narrow 2-1 victory. Over the past 11 games, he’s logged a total of eight goals and four helpers. Also of note here was goalie Carey Price, who posted 27 saves in the win.
Here’s a look at the Canadiens’ week ahead: They’re in Philadelphia tomorrow, then will host the defending champ Blackhawks on Saturday.

Jiri Hudler, LW, Calgary Flames: It’s been a rough offensive stretch for the Flames, but they were able to get the job done against the Avalanche last night. Hudler accounted for a goal and an assist on the game-winner in the 4-3 victory. That gives him a total of 12 scores and 23 helpers on the season so far.
Hudler and the gang will be back in action tonight in Phoenix as their busy week continues. They’ve also got games Thursday at home against the Blues and Saturday at home against the Penguins.

NHL Daily Schedule: 20 teams will be in action this evening, so it’ll be a busy night on the NHL ice. Here’s a look at the complete schedule, along with the start times and TV networks carrying the games.
