The Boston Bruins look to end the current road trip on a positive note at the SAP Center, but the San Jose Sharks stand in the way.
Boston has been night and day when it comes to playing at home and on the road this season. The team set out on this road trip to make a statement and improve on this season’s subpar road record, but things have not gone as planned. The Bruins dropped each of the first two contests, first to the Anaheim Ducks and then the Los Angeles Kings. In both road losses the Bruins were held to just two goals, but allowed four to the Ducks and five to the Kings. In the game against Los Angeles, Boston goaltender Tukka Rask was yanked after allowing three goals on just 18 shots by the Kings.

The Sharks are coming off a win at the Tank over the Detroit Red Wings by a score of 4-1. In that game, forward Joe Pavelski, who leads the Sharks with 21 goals this season, scored twice to help the Sharks get the easy win at home. The SAP Center has been dreadful visitors this season, with the Sharks going 16-1-3. The Sharks have alternated wins and loses over the last seven games, so the team will be looking to string together wins against Boston.
In the first meeting between these two teams this season the Bruins topped the Sharks 2-1 at TD Garden, so the Sharks will certainly have that game in mind on Saturday. However, the road team in this series is 6-2 in the last eight meetings. I expect Tukka Rask to bounce back in a strong way in this game, because the last two performances were not consistent with his .928 save percentage this season. It will be tough for the Bruins to hold down the Sharks’ scoring attack, but I think the Bruins will tighten up and come into this game hungry to finish this road trip in a strong way. I’ll take the Boston Bruins here getting plus money.
