The Philadelphia Flyers look to be unpleasant hosts when the Boston Bruins come to town.
The Philadelphia funk continued Thursday with a 5-2 road loss at surging Columbus. The Flyers have had a habit of being on or off in the 2013-14 campaign and right now the switch is off with the club losing three in a row and six of eight overall. The Flyers defense largely struggled with too much rubber getting to the net and Ray Emery was unable to rescue the team with five getting by him in a 34 save performance. Brayden Schenn and Vincent Lecavalier tallied for Philadelphia in a two goal second but a five on three power play at the end of the second that extended to the third did not produce and the Blue Jackets finished the game with a pair of goals.

Boston hasn't been tearing up the ice recently but had to be pleased with Monday's performance that produced a 3-2 victory versus the visiting Kings which was a nice rebound from a shootout defeat at Chicago. The Bruins threatened to turn this in to a laugher with Brad Marchand and Torey Krug lit the lamp to give the home team a 2-0 lead in the opening frame. Jeff Carter and Willie Mitchell score for the Kings to tie things up before Marchand netted his second of the night less then 18 ticks after the LAK knotted things up. Chad Johnson recorded the victory with a 19 save effort to outduel Mike Quick who posted 20 stops.
I'm a Philadelphia fan and I don't have a clue what this team is going to do from day to day. The problem in backing the Bruins is rust as they have not played since Monday. I'll still back them and hope I'm wrong...
