The Columbus Blue Jackets visit PNC Arena where the Carolina Hurricane await on Monday.
Columbus suffered through what has been a rare poor outing in a 5-2 loss to visiting Buffalo on Saturday. The red hot Blue Jackets were riding a club record straight victories but couldn't get the puck by Sabres netminder Ryan Miller despite peppering him with 38 shots. CBJ wasn't as fortunate in goal with Segei Bobrovsky having a seat on the bench with three goals let in on ten shots. Curtis McElhinney stopped the bleeding with a goal allowed on eleven shots but the damage had been done. Mark Letestu and Curtis McElhinney scored and assisted on each other's tallies but their efforts paled next to the Sabres who received goals from five players.

Carolina rode a four goal second period to a 6-3 decision on home ice against Ottawa. The Hurricanes spread the scoring load out with four players finding the back of the net with Manny Malhotra pacing the offense with a pair of goals and a helper while Eric Staal, Tuomo Ruutu, Riley Nash and Nathan Gerbe also scored with the latter posting a pair of helpers. Anton Khudobin picked up the win with 23 stops as he survived the Senators three goal second while counterpart Robin Lehner was pulled after giving up five goals on 22 shots with Craig Anderson coming in for the final 20 minutes.
The Blue Jackets had been one of the hottest teams in the game before falling to Buffalo so the question is whether they can rebound against the Canes who have won three in a row. Columbus has beaten the Hurricanes in seven straight and are 4-1 in their last five visits so maybe the visitors get the job done at plus money...
