The Winnipeg Jets host the Vancouver Canucks at the MTS Centre on Friday night in what should be an interesting game.

Vancouver travels to Winnipeg on the heels of a 5-2 home loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. In that game, the Canucks jumped out early to a 2-0 lead, but the Chicago offense could only be held for so long before erupting. The Hawks went on to score five unanswered goals to win going away. The game was Vancouver’s second straight loss, and now the Canucks take to the road to try and find the win column without its head coach, who is still serving a suspension.

The Winnipeg Jets, who are 6-4 in the last ten games, will look to bounce back after a 4-3 loss to the Nashville Predators. The loss to the Preds was just the second loss in the last eight contests for the Jets. The new Winnipeg head coach, Paul Maurice, has seemingly turned things in the right direction for Winnipeg. Under Maurice, the Jets have six wins in eight games and the team is playing hard on a nightly basis. The loss to Nashville was tough, after the Jets fought to pull even two different times during the game only to see the Preds hold onto a third period lead for the victory.

This game will be the second of the season between the Jets and Canucks. The first game came back in late December in Vancouver, resulting in a 2-1 Canucks victory. Including that win, Vancouver is 4-0 in the last four meetings. The Canucks are also 4-1 in the last five meetings in Winnipeg. Tough to play a side here, but I do have a lean to the under. The under is 3-0-1 in the last four meetings between these two teams. The Canucks play stellar defense, but have been having offensive problems of late. The Jets simply do not have the weapons to put up a ton of goals, which is why the club ranks 22nd in the NHL in scoring.
