The Sharks look to end their three game losing skid on Saturday night as they return home to host the Central division leading Blackhawks.
Chicago heads into tonight’s contest as losers of 6 of their last 10 contests but four of which was decided in overtime or shootout resulting in single points that have kept the division lead in their favour. The Hawks are coming off a statement win in Vancouver on Thursday as they erased a two goal deficit and never looked back upending their arch rivals on the road in spectacular fashion. Now, the Hawks head to San Jose looking to make a statement to rest of the Western Conference contenders that they’re amongst the cream of the crop in this league and that if they want to win the Western Conference they’ll have to go through the Blackhawks to do it. The Hawks have the game’s best offense with 199 goals scored this season and with the Sharks in the midst of a three game slide that includes losses to Edmonton and Calgary they could improve that number here at San Jose’s expense.

The Sharks are no doubt one of the teams to beat in the West as they sit in second place in the Pacific division but their three game losing streak has some calls for concern based on the teams they lost to. Now, you can’t fault San Jose for their loss in Edmonton as they were victim of something very special and fired 100 shots towards the net but Ben Scrivens was up to the task and the Sharks are lucky it was only a 3-0 final. However, their loss to Calgary meanwhile is a different story as that is a game the Sharks should have won and now they head back home losing ground on the Ducks and the Blues in the Western Conference standings. While this is a great bounce back opportunity for San Jose and seeing them lose four in a row is a stretch but to me the wrong team is favoured here as Chicago is the better team and getting them at this value is exceptional.
