The Nashville Predators head to the Scottrade Center in St. Louis to do battle with the Blues on Saturday for the third time this season.
Nashville was at home on Friday night against the New Jersey Devils. Jersey held a 2-1 lead into the third period, but David Legwand put in a game-tying goal with just ticks left in regulation. Then, in overtime the Predators’ captain, Shea Weber, led the team to a 3-2 victory with his second goal of the game. Friday’s game was the lone home game sandwiched between two separate road trips for Nashville, who is now 6-3-1 over the last ten games.

Similarly, the St. Louis Blues skated Friday night, but unlike the Predators were not able to come away with a win. After the game Ken Hitchcock expressed displeasure with the way the Blues played in every way. In the 3-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes, Blues goaltender Jaraslov Halak made his fifth consecutive start, which could mean that Brian Elliot will be in goal against the Predators.
These two teams met twice back in October with each team hosting a game, but St. Louis was victorious by two goal in the first meeting and five goals in the second. The Blues are 7-1 in the last eight meetings with the Predators overall. Nashville has been playing descent hockey of late, going 4-1-1 in the last six. However, much of that can be attributed to the outstanding play of Carter Hutton in net for the Preds, and being that this game is being played without rest we could see Devan Dubnyk. While I think Nashville will have a little revenge on the mind, I doubt that it is enough against the Blues in St. Louis.
