The Phoenix Coyotes play host to the Dallas Stars at the Jobing.com Arena on Tuesday night.
Anaheim has been the 900 pound gorilla at home so Dallas faced a tough trip to the Honda Center on Saturday. It turned out to be the Ducks who had the hard time with the Stars coming away with a 2-0 decision. Trevor Daly drove home a rebound off a shot from Cody Eakin for a 1-0 lead just over five minutes in to the second frame before Jamie Benn removed all doubt with an empty net tally with 29 ticks remaining. Dan Ellis recorded 26 stops for his first shut out of the year with tough luck loser Jonas Hiller posting 26 saves in the loss.

Balanced scoring and airtight defense and goaltending are always great to have by their lonesome so when put together it's a tough combination to beat for any team. The mighty Penguins found that out when Phoenix handed them a 3-1 defeat on Saturday. The goaltending of Mike Smith made things easy for the offense with a 23 save performance that was marred only by an Evegni Malkin second period tally. Radim Vrbata, Zbynek Michalek each found the back of the net with Mike Ribeiro also scoring and adding an assist. Losing goalie Marc-Andre Fleury saw plenty of rubber with 30 saves in absorbing the loss.
Both teams come off of strong performances against elite squads so both are capable of winning so I'm favoring the home team who have been a decent team at home. I'll update a few hours ahead of the game if I see the need to change...
