The Columbus Blue Jackets and the San Jose Sharks meet in NHL action from the SAP Center on Tuesday night.

The Columbus Blue Jackets will look to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 6-4 loss to Anaheim last time out. Patrik Laine leads the Blue Jackets in scoring with 56 points and Oliver Bjorkstrand has 50 points with Laine logging a team-high 26 goals and Bjorkstrand chipping in 24 goals and 26 assists. Jakub Voracek’s also got 55 points with a team-high 50 assists. Boone Jenner’s also got 44 points with 23 goals and 21 apples this season. Elvis Merzlikins has seen the majority of Columbus’ action in goal, going 25-20-6 with a 3.32 GAA and a .905 save percentage this season.

The San Jose Sharks will look to snap a double-digit losing skid after a 5-4 OT loss to Minnesota last time out. Timo Meier leads the Sharks in scoring with 73 points including a team-high 33 goals and 40 assists while Logan Couture has 50 points with 23 goals and 27 assists. Tomas Hertl has 62 points with 28 goals and 34 apples and Brent Burns has a team-high 41 assists this season. Adin Hill has gone 10-11-1 with a 2.65 GAA and a .906 save percentage for the Sharks while James Reimer is 18-16-9 with a 2.84 GAA and a .912 save percentage this season.

Columbus is 1-7 in their last 8 games against the Pacific division and 0-4 in their last 4 games against the Western Conference while the over is 7-2-3 in their last 12 Tuesday games. San Jose is 7-0 in their last 7 games as a home favorite and 0-5 in their last 5 games playing on 1 day’s rest while the over 4-0 in their last 4 games when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in their previous game.

I get the case to be made for both sides here but for me personally, the bottom line is that we’re getting plus money to fade a team that’s on a double-digit losing streak by backing Columbus and fading San Jose here. It’s not like the Sharks need to snap this losing streak to keep playoff hopes alive. The Sharks are done, have been done for a while now and shouldn’t be favored anywhere. The Blue Jackets have been done for some time too and aren’t the greatest road team, but there’s no value with San Jose. Give me the Blue Jackets in a game that’s better to watch than bet.
