The Anaheim Ducks head into Nashville to take on the Predators while hoping to avoid a fourth straight loss on Saturday.
The Ducks have suddenly dropped three consecutive games, which is shocking. Even more astonishing is each of the three losses has come at the Honda Center, where Anaheim once claimed the honor for top home team in the NHL. On Wednesday, the Chicago Blackhawks became the most recent team to leave Anaheim with a win. The Hawks scored a goal in the second and third periods in a shutout of the Ducks for the 2-0 win. Anaheim ranks third in the NHL with 3.2 goals per game, but in the last three games the Ducks have been shut out twice and scored just two goals total.

The Nashville Predators are surely happy to be back at home. The Preds are coming off of two straight road losses to the St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild. Against he Wild on Thursday, the Predators traded goals with Minnesota through regulation, but Carter Hutton allowed the game winner to Nino Niederreiter of the Wild in overtime. The Predators have gone 5-2-3 in the last ten games overall, but the team has been allowing goals at an alarming rate. Nashville has given up 24 goals in the last six games.
This will be the second of three games this season between the Predators and the Ducks. In early January the Ducks stole the first meeting from the Predators in Nashville by a score of 4-3. Anaheim is 4-0 in the last four meetings. However, the Ducks are 0-4 in the last four games against the Central Division. A positive for the Ducks has been the play of goaltender Jonas Hiller, who has been solid in net despite getting no support from the offense of late. I think this will be the spot where we see the Ducks come out flying, with the goal of putting the puck into the net. The Ducks will be the play here as the Preds caught a bad spot against a struggling, but very talented team.
