The surging Winnipeg Jets travel to St. Louis to take on the Blues at Scottrade Center on Saturday.
The Jets will finish up a four game roadie in St. Louis, which has been successful overall, going 2-1 so far. In Thursday’s game at Washington, the Jets allowed the Capitals to score three goals in the third period to blow a lead and eventually lose the game 4-2. Thursday’s loss is just the third game since Paul Maurice took over as the new head coach in Winnipeg. Maurice has the Jets climbing up the standings and there is a possibility this team could sneak into a wild card slot.

The St. Louis Blues took the ice against he visiting Boston Bruins on Thursday night. The Blues jumped out to a two goal lead, but like the Jets the Blues allowed the Bruins to claw their way back in the third period. The Bruins scored a pair in about two minutes to tie the game and steal the momentum from St. Louis. However, the resilient Blues would rally in overtime to take the game in overtime on a goal by T.J. Oshie.
This will be the fourth time this season these two teams have squared off. The Blues have won two of the first three with the other being a Jets shootout victory. The Jets are 4-1 in the last five games versus a team with a winning record. The Jets are just 1-5 in the last six meetings with the Blues, and just 2-5 in the last seven meetings in St. Louis. While I think that the Jets are playing their best hockey of the season, it is hard to see them beating the Blues in St. Louis, especially in the last of a four game road trip. The line on this game is steep and each of the first three games between the Blues and Jets this season has been decided by one goal, so I suggest looking to take the Blues in regulation.
