The New Jersey Devils make the short trip to Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum to face the New York Islanders.
New Jersey enjoyed one of the better performances in the league coming off the Olympic break as they throttled visiting Columbus 52 on Thursday. Before the the fans had a chance to down their first hot dog it was 3-0 with Ryane Clowe scoring for a 1-0 lead before Jaromir Jagr and Adam Henrique added power play tallies. Henrique added another in the middle frame before Patrik Elias added an empty netter with Corey Schneider recording 17 stops to get the win. The special teams figured in three goals overall with Henrique's second tally coming with Columbus with the man advantage.

The Islanders and Maple Leafs went back and forth for 60 minutes before Lubomir Visnovsky scored at the 1:52 mark of overtime to send the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum home happy with a 5-4 victory. This was offense only with both teams combining for five goals in the final 20 minutes. The hot Leafs received goals from Dion Phaneuf, Phil Kessel, Paul Ranger and Joffrey Lupul with Jonathan Bernier taking the loss with 30 stops. Anders Lee and Michael Grabner each tallied twice with Grabner's goals being shorthanded on the same power play while Evgeni Nabokov won with just 18 stops.
The road team has won six of seven and New Jersey is 4-1 in the last five trips to New York while the under has gone 20-7-2 in the last 29 meetings in New York. No line out but the trends seem to faver the Devils and the under so please check back when released...
