The New York Rangers visit the City of Brotherly Love to take the ice with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Facing one of the top teams in the Western Conference in the first game back from the Olympic break wasn't an ideal situation when the Blackhawks visited the Rangers but it turned out to be less then ideal for Chicago who was saddled with a 2-1 defeat. New York picked up where they left off before the break where they had won five of six whle the visitors have dropped consecutive contests. Rick Nash and Derick Brassard lit the lamp for the Rangers while Cam Talbot stood tall between the pipes with a strong 30 save performance while Peter Regin posted the lone Chicago tally with Corey Crawford posting 22 stops.

In Thursday's bout with visiting San Jose, it wasn't how Philadelphia started but how they finished and it was a world of difference. The Flyers led 2-1 after 20 minutes before the roof caved in with the Sharks throwing up five second period goals on the way to a 7-3 victory for win number three in a row. Joe Pavelski recorded a hat trick and Raffi Torres scored twice to lead the attack while a 27 stop effort from Alex Stalock was a winner. Andrej Meszaros, Matt Read and Brayden Schenn each tallied for Philadelphia while Steve Mason was given the hook with four goals allowed on 16 shots with Ray Emery giving up three more on 14 shots as the Flyers four game winning streak ended with a thud.
The home team has gone 6-1 in the last seven match ups while the Rangers are 12-3 in the last 15 meetings with the over going 3-1-1 in the past five. No line or goalies announced but New York might have the edge versus the streaky Flyers who are hot and cold without notice. Please check back later for a pick...
