The St Louis Blues look to get back on the winning track when they visit the Phoenix Coyotes.
St Louis never got un tracked offensively and that wasn't a good thing against Anaheim on the road who came away with a 1-0 victory. The Blues had numerous shots blocked and the ones that got through were denied by Jonas Hiller who recorded his fifth shutout of the season with an 18 save performance. Brian Elliott was the tough luck loser with 18 stops with Andrew Cogliano scoring the lone goal in the opening frame. The big news for the Blues was the acquisition of goalie Ryan Miller and forward Steve Ott from Buffalo in exchange for Chris Stewart and goalie Jaroslav Halak.

Neither end of the ice came through for Phoenix versus Colorado and the visitors paid the price in a 4-2 defeat on Friday for loss number three in a row. A three goal outburst from the Avalanche in the third broke open a 1-1 contest. Shane Doan was the Phoenix offense with both goals while Thomas Greiss was touched for all four goals as he faced 33 shots. Peter Stastny, Gabriel Landeskog, Nate Guenin and PA Pareteau led the attack for the Avs with Semyon Varlamov turned away a hefty 40 shots to pick up the victory as Colorado evened their record at 1-1 since returning from the Olympic break.
