The Pittsburgh Penguins and San Jose Sharks will play for the second and final time during the regular season. The teams met all the way back on December 5, and the Penguins won 5-1.
The Penguins were able to snap a three-game losing streak on Tuesday with a 3-1 road win over the Nashville Predators. Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury finally had a good outing, stopping 18 of 19 shots. He allowed a combined 13 goals in his previous three starts. Offensively, left wing James Neal has really been on a tear as of late, racking up four goals and two assists in his last five games. The Penguins are 18-12-2-0 on the road this season.

The Sharks are coming off a 3-2 overtime loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday. They scored two quick goals in the first period and were held scoreless the rest of the game. A lack of consistent scoring has been an issue for them recently, as they have been held to two or less goals in five of their last eight games. Defensively, goalie Alex Stalock has done a decent job, allowing just a combined 10 goals in his last 10 starts. The Sharks are 22-4-1-3 on their home ice this season.
This should be a highly interesting matchup between two of the better teams in the NHL. But I’m not sure how one is going to pick against the Sharks on their home ice. Not only do they have the fifth best home record in the league, but they’re a combined 17-4 at home in their last 21 games against teams with a winning road record. They play extremely well against solid teams at home.
Not only that, but the home team is 5-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams.
For the cheap price, you can’t go wrong with backing the Sharks.
