The Coyotes faced a Montreal club they had not beaten in 14 straight games which didn't bode well despite being on home ice. Phoenix ended the streak in convincing fashion 5-2 with a pair of third period goals breaking open a one goal lead. Radim Vrbata paced the attack with two goals with Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Shane Doan also lighting the lamp. Mike Smith was the benefactor of the offensive explosion with a 24 stop effort to pick up the win. Alex Galchenyuk and Andrei Markov found the back of the net for Montreal with Peter Budaj recording 18 saves in the loss.

Facing Boston is never an easy task but when they are playing well facing them can be down right ugly. Washington knows that feeling all too well after Thursday's 3-0 defeat at TD Garden. The Bruins ran their winning streak to three games and have won four of six overall as Tuukka Rask recorded shutout number six with only 16 stops. Brad Marchand, Gregory Campbell and Loui Eriksson scored for the Bruins while the Capitals mountd virtually no offense. Brad Holtby couldn't save the visitors althogh he he tried with a 40 save performance but in the end Washington was left staring at three consecutive defeats.
The home team is 5-0 in the last five meetings while the under has gone 5-1-2 in the last seven in Washington. No clear cut favorite here but a desperate Caps squad at home isthe way I'm looking...
