The Bruins look for their fifth win in a row and pad their Atlantic division lead as they head to the road to take on Roberto Luongo and the Panthers.
The Bruins hold the second largest divisional lead in the NHL as their 10 point edge over the second place Lightning in the Atlantic is five back of the Penguins’ lead over the Flyers and the rest of the misfits in the Metropolitan and a road win in Florida can pad that lead even further. Boston has to be considered a co-favourite in the very least to emerge out of the Eastern Conference as they’re the defending champs and fell just short of claiming the Stanley Cup last season and with the way they have responded this year it looks like they’re on a mission to get back there. Boston has a very deep team and are strong in all facets of the game and with a comfortable lead in the division perhaps they can give some rest to their top end guys so they’re ready for a deep postseason run.

The Panthers made some waves at the trade deadline by re-acquiring goaltender Roberto Luongo who’s soap opera ended in Vancouver after a painful final two years that created many storylines and even more trade rumors. Florida is a team in transition and will be in a rebuild mode for the next couple of years but with an emerging core of young players and a stable presence in goal the Cats have a nice future to look ahead to. Florida will be in tough for the rest of the year as team’s will circle them as an opportunity to get two easy points and with playoff jockeying starting to take shape I don’t see many teams that are in contention taking any nights off and giving Florida the opportunity to win. The Bruins are huge road favourites but I suggest taking them in regulation to knock some of the juice off in what should be an easy win for the Bruins.
