The Nashville Predators visit the Canadian Tire Centre to face the Ottawa Senators on Monday.
Nashville saw great work between the pipes go for naught in a 1-0 defeat to visiting Columbus on Saturday. Pekka Rinne was outstanding in absorbing the loss with 35 saves as he was often on his lonesome. Rinne fell victim to scorching hot Artem Anisimov who broke a scoreless tie in the third with his sixth talley in six contests. Sergei Bobrovsky was perfect in 28 shots to pick up the win to give the Blue Jackets their fourth win in five games with Bobrovsky recording his third shutout of the season. The slumping Predators lost number four in a row and seventh in eight games.

The Ottawa offense was unstoppable and the defense did just enough in a 5-3 victory at Winnipeg on Saturday. The Jets trailed 5-2 after 40 minutes and narrowed the gap to 5-3 at the 2:13 mark of the third but the damage was done. Jarred Cowen, Milan Michalek, Eric Gryba, Mike Hoffman and Kyle Turris tallied to lead the Senators outburst with Craig Anderson turned away 46 shots to get the win. Dustin Byfuglien, Bryant Little and Tobias Enstrom provided the offense for Winnipeg but Ondrej Pavelec was given the hook with all five goals allowed on 20 shots with Al Montoya recording 12 saves in relief.
The over is 4-0 in the last four in Ottawa while the road team is 5-1 in the last six meetings. Nashville is 1-4 in the last five match ups with the Senators but these trends don't have much value because neither faces one another often. I need to look at this further and will give a pick when goalies are confirmed...
