The Phoenix Coyotes take to the road to take the ice with the Tampa Bay Lightning in Monday's NHL action.
Phoenix played winning hockey for 40 minutes versus Washington on the road before a disasterous third period cost them two points in the standings. The Coyotes fell to the Capitals 3-2 as the silent Washington offense awoke for a three goal third to skate away with an unlikely win. Troy Brouwer, Karl Alzner and Brooks Laich each scored within a five minute stretch in the third to maker a winner of Jaroslav Haalak who recorded 31 saves. The Coyotes received goals from Radim Vrbata and Brandon McMillan while Mike Smith allowed all three goals on 33 shots. Phoenix now looks for back to back wins after consecutive defeats.

Tampa Bay jumped on Boston for a 2-0 second period but couldn't hold on as the Bruins won 4-3 in a shootout. Reilly Smith gave the visitors the win with his tally in round seven to send the Tampa Bay Times Forum home with frowns on their faces. Johnny Boychuk, Daniel Paille and Carl Soderberg each posted goals for Boston while Tuukka Rask recieved the win with 17 saves including seven stops in the shootout. Mark Barberio, Ondrej Palat and Valtteri Filppula each found the back of the net for the Lightning while Ben Bishop's 29 saves wasn''t enough to prevent Tampa Bay from suffering their fourth straight defeat.
The over has gone 5-1 in the past six meetings at Tampa Bay with the Lightning going 4-1 in the last five at home in this match up while the Coyotes are 3-10 in their last 13 trips to Tampa Bay. My initial lean is Tampa but they are not playing well but I'll dwell on this as I wait for goalies...
