The Columbus Blue Jackets welcome the San Jose Sharks to Nationwide Arena in Thursday night NHL action.
San Jose dominated both ends of the ice in a one sided 6-2 rout of visiting Toronto on Tuesday night. Jake Gardiner was the Maple leafs attack with both goals while James Reimer was plastered with 48 shots with six getting by him that ended Toronto's three game winning streak with a thud. The Sharks scored twice in each period with Joe Pavelski leading the way with two goals while Brent Burns, Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Tommy Wingels and Marty Havlat also lit the lamp to give Antti Niemi and his 19 saves a winner.

Columbus and Detroit were locked in a defensive struggle until the floodgates opened for the Blue Jackets who scored three times in the third to pull out a 4-1 decision over the visitors. Danny DeKeyser notched a first period goal for the Red Wings with late replacement Petr Mrazek subbing for flu ridden Jimmy Howard and making 33 stops. The Blue Jackets received goals from Brandon Dubinsky, Boone Jenner, Nick Foligno and Derek MacKenzie while Sergei Bobrovsky picked up the win with a strong 39 save performance to give his team their fifth win in six contests.
San Jose is 1-4 in the last five meetings with the home team going 24-9 in the past 33 while the under has gone 16-5 in the past 21 in Columbus. Interesting match up here with two capable teams and in the back of my mind I was thinking over but I have to confirm goalies...
