A late rally and a shootout victory was the winning recipe' for San Jose on Thursday as they escaped Columbus with a 4-3 decision. The Islanders did their impression of the NHL All Star game when they potted seven goals in the final 20 minutes to blast Vancouver 7-4 on the road. Frans Nielsen, Anders Lee, Josh Bailey, Matt Martin, Ryan Strome, Cal Clutterbuck and Calvin de Haan lit the lamp with Evgeny Nabokov picking up the win with 20 saves. Vancouver which led 3-0 heading in to the final stanza received goals from Christopher Tanev, Chris Higgins, Ryan Kessler and Henrik Sedind before the defense and goaltending of Eddie Lack hit a wall. Lack was charged with six goals on 27 shots to saddle the Canucks with losses in five of six.
San Jose is 4-1-1 in the last six meetings in New York and have won four straight while going 7-1-1 in their last nine while the Isles are riding a 2-7-1 streak at home. Right or wrong I'll back the Sharks but too much juice for me...
