The TD Banknorth Garden and Boston Bruins host the Carolina Hurricanes in Saturday action.
A third period offensive burst broke open a defensive struggle leading Carolina to a 4-2 victory over visiting Buffalo on Thursday. Jiri Tlusty lit the lamp with over six minutes left for a 3-2 lead with Nathan Gerber adding an empty netter. Alexander Semin and Jeff Skinner also scored for the Canes with Cam Ward stopping 21 shots in the win. Tyler Ennis and Drew Stafford found the back of the net for the Sabres with Michal Neuvirth recording a monster 51 saves but that wasn't enough to prevent Buffalo from dropping four in a row.

Boston can win high scoring affairs and proved they could win defensive struggles when they squeezed by Phoenix 2-1 on Thursday. The Bruins played from in front the entire night with a pair of first period tallies before Lauri Korpikoski broke up the shutout in the third. Jarome Iginla and Zdeno Chara gave the Bruins all they needed in the opening frame with Tuukka Rask making them stand up with 21 saves. Mike Smith didn't receive much help from his offense with 18 stops still not enough to take down the Atlantic Division leading Boston.
The Hurricanes are 1-4 in their last five visits to Boston with the over going 3-0-2 in the last five meetings. Carolina has won back to back contests but the Bruins have won seven straight. I'm waiting for goalies to be announced but it's tough to go against Boston right now...
