The Nashville Predators and the Edmonton Oilers meet in NHL action from Rogers Place on Thursday night.

The Nashville Predators will look to build on a third straight win after a 4-2 win over Seattle last time out. Roman Josi leads the Predators with 42 points, including 13 goals and 29 helpers while Mikael Granlund has 36 points with a team-high 30 assists. Matt Duchene also has 39 points with 20 goals and Ryan Johansen has 33 points with 21 assists. Filip Forsberg’s also added a team-high 21 goals and Alexandre Carrier has a team-high +12 plus/minus rating. Juuse Saros has seen the bulk of the action in goal for Nashville, going 23-11-2 with a 2.37 GAA and a .926 save percentage this season.

The Edmonton Oilers will try to build on back-to-back wins after a 3-2 OT win over Vancouver last time out. Leon Draisaitl leads the Oilers in scoring with 59 points while Connor McDavid is right behind with 57 points, with Draisaitl logging a team-high 29 goals and 28 assists while McDavid has a team-high 37 assists this season. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has 27 points with 24 assists while Jesse Puljujarvi has 25 points and Zach Hyman has 11 goals. Mikko Koskinen’s seen the majority of Edmonton’s action in goal, going 14-8-1 with a 3.24 GAA and an .899 save percentage this season.

Nashville is 12-2 in their last 14 games following a win and 11-1 in their last 12 games after allowing 2 goals or less in the previous game while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 road games. Edmonton is 2-7 in their last 9 games overall and 1-5 in their last 6 games as a home favorite while the under is 5-0-1 in their last 6 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600.

I get the reasoning for Edmonton being favored at home, as the Oilers may have finally turned a corner and have turned things around. However, I think I need more than two games from Edmonton to fully deem the Oilers back on track, and while they hit a bit of a bump, Nashville has been playing some solid hockey as of late. I think there’s value to be had with the Predators in this spot.
