The Bruins look for their 10th win in a row on Tuesday night as they head into New Jersey to take on a Devils team playing for their playoff lives.
The Bruins have yet to lose a game since returning from Sochi and after another dominant effort on home ice against a good Minnesota Wild team it is hard to believe they will ever lose again. Boston is on an absolute tear at the moment but that should come as no surprise as they’re a very good team that returns most of the pieces from last year’s Eastern Conference championship roster. Tuukka Rask has to be considered a favourite to win the Vezina Trophy as he has posted some ludicrous numbers behind a stellar Boston defense and the offense while a little stagnant at times and without one major superstar that handles the bulk of the duty is still very impressive. Boston will look to distance themselves from the Penguins atop the Conference standings but will need to upend a hungry Devils team that needs a victory on home ice.

The Devils have dropped their last two contests which comes at a very inopportune time as they are in the mix for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference but are quickly fading away. New Jersey has surprised a number of people this season with their play especially considering they are without Ilya Kovalchuk who fled for the KHL in the offseason and was a huge part of the team’s offensive production. Martin Brodeur is certainly having a transition season as he hasn’t played nearly the amount of games he’s used to with Corey Schneider acting as the future but playing a ton of games now. Brodeur is slated to get the start in this one however and will be motivated to perform well but against a tough Bruins team they will be hard pressed to get two points. While I am a huge believer in winning and losing streaks balancing each other out and the Bruins’ run is getting a little ridiculous they are getting a nice price as a road favourite here and I think they are well worth a look as the way better team.
