The Florida Panthers make the trip to the west coast where they face the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday.
Vancouver's struggles on the road took a break for at least a day as they edged Florida 4-3 in a shootout on Sunday. The Canucks received a pair of goals from Nicklas Jensen including the game winner in the shootout while Alexandre Burrows and Dan Hamhuis also lit the lamp. Eddie Lack picked up the victory with 26 stops and did not allow a goal in the SO as the Canucks won their third straight. Jimmy Hayes scored twice for the Panthers including the equalizer with just over a minute and a half left to play while Vincent Trocheck also scored with Roberto Luongo recorded 29 saves in regulation.

The surging Sharks swept their three game road swing to the east coast by shutting down the Rangers 1-0 on Sunday. A first period tally with the man advantage off the stick of Logan Couture was all Antti Niemi would need as he posted shutout number four on the season on the heels of a 41 save performance as the Sharks won their sixth in a row overall. The Rangers received 28 stops from Henrik Lundqvist but that wasn't enough to prevent New York from losing their sixth contest in nine outings. The NYR almost scored in the second when Niemi stopped a Carl Hagelin shot that he trapped under his pads but replay couldn't confirm the puck crossed the goal line.
These teams seldom face one another so trends have no value to me. The only trend I see is San Jose is doing a lot of winning and return home after a successful trip. I don't know how to get value on the Sharks here so this might not be worth it...
