The Minnesota Wild take the ice with the Detroit Red Wings at Excel Energy Center on Saturday.
Sometimes good fortune and a few bounces can go a long way and Detroit received both in a 5-4 overtime win over visiting Pittsburgh. First the Red Wings killed off a five minute Penguins power play that extended in to OT and then saw Daniel Alfredsson score the game winner off a rebound with less then 1/2 second left in a game that seemed destined for a shootout. Alfredsson scored twice with Gustav Nyquist, Todd Bertuzzi and Tomas Tater lighting the lamp in support of Jimmy Howard's 43 saves. Evegni Malkin paced the Pittsburgh attack with two goals with Lee Stempniak and Craig Adams adding goals while Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 25 shots.

Minnesota's three goal burst in the final frame went for naught as the Devils regrouped to take a 4-3 overtime decision Thursday. Andy Greene saved New Jersey with an OT tally two minutes in to avert a disasterous defeat in a game the home team led 2-0 in the third. Michael Ryder, Jaromir Jagr and Mark Fayne scored in regulation and Cory Schneider stopped 20 shots to end a three game losing streak and remain within five points of the final postseason spot. Zach Parise, Mikael Granlund and Matt Cook each scored for the Wild in the third who did nothing over the first 40 minutes. Ilya Bryzgalov was unable to protect a 3-2 and finished with 25 stops.
The Red Wings are 30-12-3 in the last 45 meetings with the under going 4-0-1 in the last five in Minnesota but the over is 3-0-1 in the last four overall. I don't have a strong lean yet but will look further in to this once goalies are confirmed...
