The St Louis Blues head to the Air Canada Centre to tangle with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday.
After back to back defeats St Louis got back in the win column in a 1-0 decision over Pittsburgh at the Consol Energy Center on Sunday. Defense, goaltending and special teams all contributed to this one as the Blues killed off five Penguins power plays including a 5 on 3 chance. Brian Elliott posted 33 saves in the victory for shut out number four of the 2013-14 campaign with David Backes lone score at 11:20 of the final frame being the winner. The Blues are tied with the Bruins for most points with 103 and have won 9-12 overall. Marc-Andre Fluery absorbed the defeat with a 26 save effort not enough.

A late rally fell short as Toronto dropped a 3-2 decision at New Jersey on Sunday. The Maple Leafs trailed 3-0 before the offense showed some life and by then the damage was done. The Leafs hold a five point lead over the Devils for the second Wild Card and could have given themselves a little breathing roo but instead lost their fifth straight. John Merrill, Patrik Elias and Damien Brunner scored for New Jersey with Cory Schneider getting the win with 21 stops. Tyler Bozak tallied in the second and Phil Kessel brough the Maple Leafs to within 3-2 with 91 ticks left in regulation but it was too late. James Reimer allowed all three goals on seven shots before getting the hook in favor of Drew MacIntyre.
St Louis is 5-1 in their last six trips to Toronto and are 9-4 in the last 13 head to heads. Toronto is slumping and the Blues are one of the best so lean to St Louis pending goalie confirmation...
