The Consol Energy Center and the Pittsburgh Penguins look to cool down the Los Angeles Kings.
Pittsburgh has been one of the strongest teams in the NHL when on their home ice although that wasn't enough Tuesday when the Coyotes came to town and squeezed out a 3-2 decision. The Penguins are in the midst of a funk that has seen them fall in five of their last seven with the news even worse with star Evegni Malkin out for several weeks with a foot problem. Jussi Jokinen and Taylor Pratt were the Pens offense with opening frame tallies that were answered by the Coyotes David Moss and Antoine Vermette for a 2-2 tie that was broken by the Yotes Mikkel Boedker in the second to finish off the scoring. Marc-Andre Fluery took the loss with 26 stops while Thomas Greiss won it with a 23 save effort.

Surging Los Angeles erased a two goal deficit with a three goal thid period before eventually stealing a 5-4 decision at Washington in a shootout on Tuesday. Dwight King, Dustin Brown, Marian Gaborik and Mike Richards scored in regulation for the Kings with Anze Kopitar and Jeff Carter each tallied in the SO to make Jonathan Quick a winner with 23 stops and give the LAK win number seven in a row on the road. Washington received a pair of goals from Alex Ovechkin with Dustin Penner and Evgeny Kuznetsov also lighting the lamp. Jaroslav Halak mustered 32 saves in the defeat for the Capitals who lost Niklas Backstrom to injury in the second.
