The Montreal Canadiens head to the Sunshine State to tangle with the Tampa Bay Lightning in Tuesday night action.
Montreal contiued to look strong with the postseason on the horizon following a 4-1 victory at Florida on Saturday. The Canadiens led 3-0 and were in cruise control by the end of the second period to earn victory number five in a row and eighth in nine contests. Max Pacioretty provided the offensive spark with a pair of goals with David Desharnais and Thomas Vanek also scoring to make a winner of Carey Price and his 36 stops. The slumping Panthers lone score came off the stick of Brad Boyes with Dan Ellis absorbing the loss with just 15 saves as Florida fell for the ninth time in 12 outings.

Tampa Bay saw there modest winning streak end at two games following a 3-2 loss at Detroit on Sunday. The Lightning trailed 3-1 when Sami Salo's slap shot found the net with around 4 1/2 minutes remaining but the Red Wings defense finished the game strong. Valtteri Filppula lit the lamp in the opening period but the Lightning's dangerous offense was held in check most of the time. Ben Bishop recorded 27 saves in the loss with David Legwand, Gustav Nyquist and Joakim Andersson posting goals to give the Wings back to back wins and a two point lead over Columbus for the first Wild Card. The victory went to Jonas Gustavsson who posted 26 stops.
The road team is 5-1 in the last six match ups while Montreal is 5-2 in the past seven meetings while the under is 4-0 in the last four overall. I believe Tampa Bay will be favored regardless of who is between the pipes so I'll be taking a close look at the odds here when released...
