Nationwide Arena and the Columbus Blue Jackets host the Phoenix Coyotes in Tuesday night NHL action.
Phoenix needs wins and points right now as they battle for the second Wild Card in the Western Conference. The Coyotes had to settle for one point in a 3-2 shootout loss to visiting Edmonton on Friday. Sam Gagner was the offensive star for the Oilers with the lone goal in the SO while scoring the tying goal with only 40 seconds left in regulation while Justin Schultz also scored for the visitons with Ben Scrivens stopping 24 shots. Kyle Chipchura and Oliver Ekman-Larsson also lit the lamp for the Yotes while Thomas Greiss recorded 24 stops. Despite the disappointing finish Phoenix controls the second Wild Card by a single point over Dallas in the West.

A few teams have let their guard down against the Islanders and have paid the price with the loss of two points. Columbus wasn't one of them as they dominated both ends of the ice in a 4-0 decision versus the visiting New Yorkers on Sunday night. CBJ picked up valuable ground on the Red Wings in the 1st Wild Card race and stand just a single point off the pace. The power play was a significant factor with Mark Letestu scoring the lone even strength goal for the home team with Boone Jenner, Ryan Murray and Jack Johnson scoring with the man advantage. Sergei Bobrovsky made 31 stops in the shutout while Anders Nilsson recorded 29 saves.
The home team is 5-1 in the past six meetings while Phoenix is 0-4 in the last four visits to Columbus. The home team has dominated this series and I'm leaning Columbus pending netminders...
