The Ottawa Senators head to Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum to face the New York Islanders.
Ottawa came up with a huge effort in a 3-2 road victory over the postseason bound Rangers on Saturday that prevented New York from clinching a spot in the playoffs for another day. Mika Zibanejad, Mark Stone and Jason Spezza tallied for the visitors while Robin Lehtner came up big between the pipes with a 41 save performance. Mats Zuccarello was the Rangers offense with both goals with Henrik Lundqvist absorbing the loss with 31 stops. New York still needs one point to secure a spot in the playoffs and own a two point lead over third place Philadelphia in the Metropolitan.

The Islanders have been out of the postseason conversation for awhile but have been a dangerous team to face in recent weeks but that wasn't the case in a 4-0 defeat at Columbus Sunday night. The Blue Jackets looked like a team playing for something as they moved within just a single point of the Red Wings for the first Wild Card in the Eastern Conference. Ryan Murray, Jack Johnson and Boone Jenner posted power play goals with Mark Letestu tallying at even strength while Sergei Bobvrosky got the win on a 31 save effort. The Islanders had gone 5-0-2 in their last seven contests but could not stay out of the box in this one and Anders Nilsson was victimized for all four scores on 33 shots.
The road team is 7-3 in the last ten meetings while Ottawa is 35-16-3 in the past 54 match ups with the Islanders with the over going 5-1 in the last six in New York. Looking for goalies but I could make an argument for either team regardless of who is in the nets but I'll wait for until I know for sure...
