The New York Rangers shoot for two points when the Carolina Hurricanes visit Madison Square Garden.
New Jersey turned up the defensive pressure at Carolina on Saturday and skated away with a 3-1 decision to stay in the race for the final Wild Card. The Hurricanes are six points out with four to play and have to win out and hope for a lot of help in addition. Dainius Zubrus netted a pair of goals with Travis Zajac scoring the other to back the goaltending of Cory Schneider who picked up the win with 26 saves as the Devils improved to 4-0-3 in their last seven outings. The Canes received a second period marker from Jeff Skinner with Anton Khudobin making 20 stops.

The Rangers have their postseason future in their own hands as in win and nobody can do anything about it. That didn't happen in a 3-2 loss to the visiting Senators on Saturday that saw their lead for second in the Metropolitan cut to two points over Philadelphia who won on Sunday against Buffalo. The Rangers need one point to guarantee themselves a playoff berth but they need to shake the Flyers to claim home ice in round one. Mats Zuccarello was the lone source of scoring for the home team with both goals but Henrik Lundqvist surrendered three goals on 34 shots. Mark Stone, Jason Spezza and Mika Zibanejad did the damage for Ottawa with 41 saves coming from Robin Lehtner.
Carolina is 0-5 in their last five trips to New York and 1-10 in the last eleven meetings overall while the over has gone 7-2-2 in those as well. I lean to the Rangers but no info on who is in the nets so I'll look in to this as I wait...
