The Dallas Stars collide with the Anaheim Ducks at the Honda Center in game five action Friday.
Dallas rallied from an early hole to down Anaheim 4-2 at the American Airlines Center Wednesday to even their opening round series 2-2. The Stars had an 'oh no' moment as they trailed the visitors 2-0 after 20 minutes before scoring twice in the second and third. The Ducks might have let things get away from them going forward with a squandered lead and the loss of defenseman Stephane Robidas with a broken leg (game 3) and center Ryan Getzlaf with aner body injury that has him listed as questionable.

Patrick Maroon and Bryan Allen gave Anaheim the early advantage but the offense and defense struggled the rest of the way. Frederik Andersen allowed all four goals on 25 shots but was pulled in the third in favor of Jonas Hiller. Vernon Fiddler paced the Stars attack with a goal and a helper with Cody Eakin, Jamie Benn and Alex Goligoski also finding the back of the net. Kari Lehtonen gave up two early goals but settled down to record 21 saves in the win.
I don't know if the trends mean as much here as they might in the regular season. Anaheim was dominant at home this year but the afforementioned injuries are a huge concern in my view. Both squads were fantastic on home ice so whoever blinks at home is done and it could be Friday but let me see the lines and injury report before I get ahead of myself...
