The Sharks look to wrap their series with the Kings on Saturday as things shift back to San Jose with the home side up 3-1.
The LA Kings staved off elimination and regained some dignity at least for night with a victory over the Sharks in game four on Thursday but they head back to the Tank facing elimination once again. Los Angeles played very uncharacteristically in the first two games of this series as the San Jose offense completely dominated and put up 13 goals on the Kings netminders and looked as though they were going to turn this series into a cake walk. While they say the fourth and final game is always the toughest to win and that is a huge reason why the Kings played the way they did on Thursday but I do think these teams are a lot closer than the first three games indicates and I do think we could still see this thing go to the end. Jonathan Quick played his best game of the series at home in the last contest and he will have to match or exceed that effort here tonight he is more than capable of doing so even against a very talented San Jose team who has been firing on all cylinders.

The Sharks were a game away from claiming the Central division and could have bypassed this series with the Kings altogether but it looks like it is working out in their favour as they are a game away from setting up a second round match up with the Ducks or Stars. San Jose is a very deep team especially down the middle and for a team to have success in the playoffs their strength at the centre position is incredibly vital and there may not be any team in the postseason with as much of a luxury there as the Sharks. Antii Niemi, who had been facing a ton of scrutiny heading into the playoffs, answered the call with three strong efforts in a row to start the series but was pulled in favour of Alex Stalock in their game four loss but expect the Finnish net minder back between the pipes tonight. San Jose is in a great position here and I think they’d like to close things out tonight but again I still think this series has the potential to go the distance and if there is any team that can rally it is the Kings.
