The Montreal Canadiens shoot for a 2-0 series lead when they face the Boston Bruins on Saturday.
Montreal took game one of their series at Boston 4-3 in double overtime and have a shot at an improbable 2-0 series lead with a win on Saturday. However that's getting ahead of ourselves as the Bruins are certain to come out with fire in their belly. There was plenty of talk that Montreal had the Bruins number after winning three of four during the regular season and that Tampa Bay was an easy first round opponent but it appeared for at least one day the Canadiens are the real deal.

PK Subban's power play goal at the 4:17 mark of the 2nd OT won it and he also scored in the first with the man advantage. Francis Bouillon and Rene Bourque also lit the lamp with Bourque posting an assist while Carey Price was spectacular with a monster 48 save performance. Torey Krug, Reilly Smith and Johnny Boychuk scored for the Bruins who actually led 3-2 but Tuukka Rask couldn't preserve the lead. Rask was viewed as the better of the two netminders after logging a 1.16 GAA versus Detroit in the first round but he gave up all four tallies on 33 shots.
Boston was solid in the penalty kill department in their first round series but Montreal burned them twice on three chances including the game winner in overtime. Another thing that didn't happen in the regular season for the Bruins is they seldom trailed late and when they took a late lead it was money in the bank especially at home. The key for Boston in game two is avoid penalties or find a way to kill them and hope Rask rebounds. For Montreal there is not much to say because they took advantage of opportunities and showed poise when Boston came back in the third. I'm waiting for the line but expect it to be another big one favoring Boston...
