The Wild look to play their way back into their series with the Chicago Blackhawks as the scene shifts to Minnesota for the next two contests.
The Chicago Blackhawks have now won six straight contests in these playoffs after ripping off four straight against the Blues in the opening round and have since taken the first two games of this series against the Minnesota Wild. The Hawks are the defending Cup champions and are certainly a favourite to repeat as they’re one of the best teams in the league but the road they travel will be a tough one and that includes these next two contests in Minnesota. Chicago as mentioned has just two losses so far in the postseason but both of those came on the road and now they head into Minnesota who has yet to lose at home in the playoffs as they were a perfect 3-0 at the Xcel Energy Center against the Colorado Avalanche. Patrick Kane has continued to generate production for his team up front as he netted two goals in Chicago’s game two victory including a spectacular back hander that has since coined the term “show time” for Kane as the nifty handed winger looks to produce a Conn Smythe trophy and another Stanley Cup.

The Wild hope to continue their impressive play on home ice on Tuesday when the host the Blackhawks for the first of two contests to be played in Minnesota and after dropping the first two contests of the series the Wild are in a must win type situation. Minnesota has a pretty underrated roster as they have a ton of guys capable of leading this team deep into the postseason but their Achilles heel at the moment is in goal as Ilya Bryzgalov doesn’t seem to have the same swagger he once did and is now a liability between the pipes. The Wild were looking very promising with Darcy Kuemper in goal but with a head injury forcing him from duty and pushing him to the infirmary it is a huge blow to Minnesota’s playoff hopes as the team just seems to play with more confidence with he is in the crease. This will be a tough spot for the Wild as the Hawks are playing with so much confidence and momentum but it is unrealistic to expect a team to go on such a long winning streak at this juncture in the season and if there is any game that Minny is going to take in this series I think it’ll be this one.
