The Pittsburgh Penguins hope to wrap up their series with the New York Rangers at MSG on Sunday.
The Rangers came out firing on all cylinders in game five and routed the Penguns 5-1 at Consol Energy Center on Friday. Pittsburgh had a chance to wrap up the series and move on to the conference finals but were never in it with the New Yorkers scoring twice in the first and second and never looking back. Through four games the NYR offense was nearly non existent before exploding Friday and sending the series back to Madison Square Garden tailing 3-2.

Derrick Brassard led the offensive charge with a pair of tallies with Chris Kreider and Ryan McDonagh also lighting the lamp with Kevin Klein finding the empty net. Mats Zuccarello added three assists while Henrik Lundqvist stood tall in the nets with a 31 save performance. The lone Pittsburgh goal came off the stick of Evgeni Malkin in the second period that cut the lead to 4-1. After recording shutouts in games two and three, Marc-Andre Fleury came back to earth with four goals scored on 34 shots.
I know there is never anything that is guaranteed in any sport, especially at the pro level but I was completely taken by surprise by the lack of competitiveness from the Pens. I would go as far as saying that was an embarassing performance from a very talented and veteran roster. Keys? Nothing wrong with the Rangers scoring some goals again and for Pittburgh I would say showing up would be a good place to start. Waiting for a line so please check back...
