The Los Angeles Kings look to fend off elimination when they host the Anaheim Ducks in game six Wednesday.
Anaheim outscored the Kings 4-3 in game five at the Honda Center on Monday to take a 3-2 series lead in to Wednesday's bout at Los Angeles. In a series that had been dominated by the visiting team the Ducks were the first to win on home ice and can now eliminate their rivals in game six on the road where they have won twice. There was plenty of back and forth action for those that prefer wide open, offensive hockey which might have played in to the hands of the high powered Ducks.

A three goal burst in the second gave Anaheim a 4-2 lead heading in to the final 20 minutes but as has been the case in these playoffs the LAK made a game of it with a third period talley but could not net the equalizer. The Ducks received a pair of goals from Devante Smith-Pelly with Jakob Silfverberg and Nick Bonino also scoring to give John Gibson the win in the nets. The rookie earned his second career postseason victory with a 39 save effort after shutting out the Kings in game four to give his team their third consecutive victory.
The Kings received two goals from Marian Gaborik with Trevor Lewis also finding the back of the net but Jonathan Quick struggled between the pipes with all four goals allowed on 24 shots. This series has done an about face with the Kings winning twice in Anaheim and looking as if destiny was on their side once again after winning four straight versus San Jose to erase a 3-0 series deficit. Now the Ducks are threatening to win four in a row to advance to the conference finals. The key in my eyes for the Kings is to get an early lead because the Ducks are far too dangerous if they are playing frontrunner. I will post a pick well before game time Wednesday so please check back...
