The Anaheim Ducks host the Los Angeles Kings in games seven at the Honda Center Friday night.
Los Angeles knocked off Anaheim 2-1 on Wednesday to force a decisive game seven to be played at the Honda Center on Friday. The Kings also went to a game seven to oust San Jose in the first round and have been on the brink of elimination no less then five times in this postseason so they have prospered despite living on the edge. The one noticeable thing about this series is it has become more of a defensive battle which might fit the style of Los Angeles more then the Ducks.

Anaheim seemed to have stolen away the momentum in this series with three consecutive victories to take a 3-2 lead in to game six but momentum and home ice was on the Kings side Wednesday at the Staples Center. The home team opened the scoring at 8:16 of the first when Jake Muzzin's blast from point blank range off a pass from Anze Kopitar beat Kyle Gibson. The Kings increased their lead to 2-0 when Trevor Kewis went five hole on Gibson from the top of the left circle with the puck having enough on it to cross the goal line at the 14:04 mark of period two.
Kyle Palmieri got the Ducks on the board just over a 1 1/2 minutes later on a wrap around but neither team could got anything going the rest of the way. Rookie Kyle Gibson gave up both goals on 23 shots in the loss while Jonathan Quick recorded 21 saves. I expect another tight defensive effort from both squads in game seven with both goaltenders giving their respective teams a chance. I am leaning to Los Angeles who seems to thrive in these situations in this postseason but I want to see and watch the line when it comes out so please check back...
