The Los Angeles Kings look to maintain the home ice advantage with a game four win over the Chicago Blackhawks.
Los Angeles outscored Chicago 4-3 Saturday at the Staples Center to take a 2-1 series lead while holding on to the home ice edge. The Kings reputation as a defensive minded squad might need to be reconsidered after another big night on the scoreboard and it turned out to be just enough with the Blackhawks doing some offensive damage as well.

All thouhts of a defensive struggle went out the window in the first period with Chicago leading 2-1 before the LAK turned on the defensive pressure and held the visitors scoreless until a goal with Corey Crawford on the bench with under five seconds ended the scoring. Jonathan Toews led the Chicago attack with a pair of goals with Patrick Sharp scoring the final goal in the waning seconds. Quick absorbed the loss with four goals allowed on 32 shots.
The Kings received a goal and a pair of helpers from Jeff Carter who had a hat trick in game two while Slava Voynox, Drew Doughty and Tyler Toffoli finished off another productive night on the scoreboard. Jonathan Quick picked up the win with a 24 save perfomance while holding the Blackhawks to 0-4 on the power play. After falling behind the Hawks in game two by a 2-0 count, Los Angeles went on to score six straight times in a 6-2 victory and pulled off a similar feat Saturday when Chicago saw a 2-1 lead turn in to a 3-2 deficit with the Kings scoring three in a row.
Momentum obviously appears to be with Los Angeles who simply doesn't go away and has an answer for everything. Having said that they have created and capitalized on their opportunities so the question is can this continue in game four and send the Blackhawks to their third loss in a row? I will be looking in to this while waiting for a line an as usual will post a pick a few hours before gametime...
