The New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings will play game two of the Stanley Cup Final on Saturday night.
The Rangers lost game one, 3-2, in overtime despite starting the game with a 2-0 lead. The Rangers are now 0-7 in the playoffs when allowing three or more goals. Despite allowing three goals, Henrik Lundqvist blocked 40 of 43 shots and helped give the Rangers plenty of chances to win in regulation. Offensively, the Rangers speed was a clear mismatch early in the game, but they couldn’t get anything going in the third period, getting off just three shots in the 20 minutes. Ryan McDonagh has at least one assist in his last four games, but Martin St. Louis has done nothing offensively in his last three games. The New York Rangers are 31-18-2-1 on the road.

The Kings did what they’ve done all playoffs by coming back after putting themselves in an early hole. The Kings are now 12-5 in the playoffs when scoring three or more goals. The Kings are also 3-2 in overtime playoff games this season. Goalie Jonathan Quick appeared to be a lot more comfortable in net, blocking 25 of 27 shots in the game one victory. The Kings simply overpowered the Rangers with their physicality as expected, and Jeff Carter picked up his fourth point in his last five games. Justin Williams has two goals and seven points in his last five games. The Los Angeles Kings are 29-17-3-2 at home.
The Rangers are 8-3 in their last 11 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game and 7-3 in their last 10 overall. The Kings are 4-1 in their last 5 games playing on 2 days rest and 5-2 in their last 7 Stanley Cup Finals games. The home team is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings between these two teams.
This is almost a must-win game for the Rangers, as you don't want to go back to New York in a 2-0 hole. That's why I'm going to back the Rangers with the plus money. The Rangers have been great on the road and could have easily won on Wedensday. Don't expect the Rangers to get shutout in the final two periods again, and Lundqvist will continue to play well.
Give me the road warriors and the added value.
