The Vancouver Canucks look for a road win when threy visit the American Airlines Center to face the Dallas Stars.
The Vancouver Canucks look to get back in the win column following a 4-2 loss to visiting Tampa Bay on Saturday night. The Canucks struggled at both ends of the ice although they put some pucks on goal with Lightning netminder Ben Bishop making 30 saves for the win. The Bolts offense proved to be too much to handle with Steven Stamkos lighting the net twice and adding a helper with Alex Kilhorn and Ryan Callahan also scoring. Vancouver received a first period marker from Chris Higgins with Alexander Edler scoring in the second but the Canucks offense was silent thereafter. The loss went to Eddie Lack who was touched for all four goals in his season debut as Tampa Bay won number three in a row versus Vancouver.

The Dallas Stars hope to shake off a disappointing 6-5, overtime loss to visiting Philadelphia on Saturday night. The Flyers scored three times in the third period for the tie with Claude Giroux netting the winner in the extra session on the power play. Trevor Daley paced the Stars offense with a pair of goals with Jamie Benn and Erik Cole also scored while Jason Spezza added a goal and a trio of helpers with Tyler Sequin handing out four assists. Although finding the back of the Philadelphia net seemed like second nature the Flyers enjoyed just as much success against Lari Lehtonen who was charged with all six goals on 36 shots. Lehtonen has not fared well against the Orange & Black as he fell to 0-10-2 versus Philly in his career which probably had Dallas fans wondering why he didn't get the night off.
The over is 4-0 in Vancouver's last four after scoring two goals or less in their previous game with the Canucks going 4-0 in their past four when their opponent allows five goals or more in their previous contest. Dallas is 0-4 in their past four against the Western Conference while going 0-7 in their last seven games when giving up five or more goals in their previous game. The over is 4-1 in the Stars last five versus a team with a wining % above .600. Head to head Vancouver is 0-4 in the past four meetings with the under going 18-7-3 in the last 28 visits to Dallas while the over is 5-2 in the past seven meetings overall. Vancouver is playing better hockey between the two teams but hasn't won lately in Dallas so I'll have time to dig in to this while waiting for goalies and I'll have a pick by Tuesday afternoon or sooner...
