The Buffalo Sabres will be at the Honda Center on Wednesday night to take the ice with the Anaheim Ducks.
The Buffalo Sabres look to right the ship in the early going as they head to the west coast to face the red hot Ducks. Things haven't gone the Sabres way thus far and didn't in Saturday's 4-0 home loss to visiting Boston. Neither end of the ice was strong enough with the Bruins scoring twice in the first and second periods. Torey Krug, Carl Soderberg, Zdeno Chara and Dougie Hamilton each lit the lamp for the Bruins in support of Niklas Svedberg who recorded 32 saves for the shutout victory. The Sabres received 32 stops from Jhonas Enroth in defeat who fell to 1-5 on the season. Boston has now shutout Buffalo in the last two visits going back to 2013.

The first few weeks of the season have the Anaheim Ducks looking like Stanley Cup contenders as they await the arrival of Buffalo on Wednesday. The Ducks improved to 5-1 with 3-0 whitewash of visiting St Louis on Sunday. Airtight defense and goaltending combining with some early scoring was the recipe' for success against a solid Blues club. Matt Belesky got the momentum on Anaheim's side with his first period tally just 1:37 after the opening faceoff. Sami Vatanen scored the next two on the power play which made a winner of Frederik Andersen whose 28 stops gave him his first career shutout while Brian Elliott was saddled with the defeat despite 22 saves. This has been a great match up for Anaheim who are unbeaten in the past eight meetings with St Louis.
The under is 3-0-1 in the Sabre's last four games versus a team with a winning record with the over going 5-0 in Buffalo's past five contest following a loss of three goals or more. The Sabres are 2-12 in the last 14 road contests versus a team with a home winning % of greater then .600. Anaheim is 6-1 in their last seven game's playing on two days rest with the over going 5-1 in the Ducks after allowing two goals or less in their previous game while the over is 4-1 in Anaheim's last five versus the Eastern Conference. Head to head Buffalo is 1-4 in the last five trips to Anaheim with the over is 5-2 in the past seven meetings while the Sabres are 3-7 in the last ten meetings overall. The obvious is Buffalo is struggling and Anaheim can do no wrong. Not much value in backing the Ducks but I'll look for an angle when goalies are confirmed so please check back by Wednesday afternoon...
